이로써 전남도는 6년 연속 청년마을 공모 선정이라는 눈부신 성과를 거두며 청년 유입과 지역 활력 제고의 선도 지역임을 다시 한번 입증했다.

‘청년마을 만들기 지원사업’은 지역 청년의 유출을 방지하고 외지 청년들의 안정적인 지역 정착을 지원하는 프로젝트다. 청년들에게는 새로운 삶의 기회를, 소멸 위기에 처한 지역에는 젊은 에너지를 불어넣는 것이 핵심이다.

올해 공모에는 전국에서 총 141개 단체가 출사표를 던져 치열한 경쟁을 벌였다. ‘수숲기간’은 1차 서면 심사와 2차 현지실사 및 발표 심사를 거쳐 최종 10개 마을 중 하나로 선정되는 영예를 안았다. 이번 선정으로 ‘수숲기간’은 연간 2억 원씩, 3년간 총 6억 원의 사업비를 지원받게 된다.
