전라남도와 광주광역시, 행정안전부는 25일 광주일가정양립지원본부에서 ‘전남광주통합특별시 출범 준비 합동 워크숍’을 개최했다. 이번 워크숍은 행정통합 실무준비단 출범 이후 처음 열린 합동회의로, 통합 전 해결해야 할 핵심 과제들을 최종 점검하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 워크숍은 △조직 △인사 △재정 △자치법규 △전산시스템 △지방의회 등 총 6개 분과로 나누어 심도 있는 논의가 진행됐다. 특히 출범과 동시에 즉각 적용되어야 하는 자치법규 정비와 통합 조례 마련, 재정·회계 시스템 통합, 데이터 전환 등 기술적·제도적 과제들에 대해 집중적인 협의가 이뤄졌다.

참석자들은 통합 초기 발생할 수 있는 행정 혼선을 방지하고, 시·도민들에게 제공되는 대민 서비스의 연속성을 확보하는 방안을 최우선 순위로 다뤘다.
