(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전라남도가 농림축산식품부 주관 ‘식품융합클러스터 조성 시범사업’ 공모에 최종 선정되며 지역 식품산업의 경쟁력 강화와 수출 확대의 전기를 마련했다.

이번 사업은 전남의 풍부한 농산물 생산 기반에 첨단 가공기술과 체계적인 마케팅을 접목, 소규모 식품기업을 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 강소기업으로 육성하기 위해 추진된다.

식품융합클러스터는 제품 기획부터 ▲기술 개발 ▲시제품 제작 ▲마케팅 ▲해외 판로 개척에 이르기까지 식품산업의 전 과정을 지원하는 ‘원스톱 시스템’을 구축한다.

사업 운영은 (재)전남바이오진흥원이 전담하며, 전남도를 중심으로 대학 및 연구소와 연계한 ‘산학연 협력 네트워크’를 구성해 전문성을 높일 방침이다.

특히 전남도는 오는 2027년까지 시제품과 완제품 생산이 가능한 ‘공유공장’을 건립할 계획이다. 이는 초기 자본이 부족한 청년 창업기업의 시설 투자 부담을 대폭 낮춰줄 것으로 기대된다.

해당 시설은 현재 운영 중인 화순 기능성 가정간편식(HMR) 실증·실용화 지원센터와 연계해 시너지를 극대화하며, 참여 기업들은 전북 익산 소재 국가식품클러스터의 기업 지원 프로그램도 함께 활용할 수 있다.

전남도는 이번 사업을 통해 식품산업의 성공 모델을 조기에 안착시킨다는 복안이다. 특히 향후 추진될 광주·전남 행정통합 흐름에 발맞춰 지원 대상을 광주 지역 기업까지 점진적으로 확대해 나갈 예정이다.
