(무안·순천=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전라남도가 지역의 숨은 정원을 발굴해 정원문화를 확산하고 도민들의 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 ‘2026 전라남도 예쁜정원 콘테스트’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

올해로 7회째를 맞이한 이번 콘테스트는 전남도가 전국 최초로 시작해 전국적인 우수 사례로 확산된 시책이다. 2020년 첫 개최 이후 지금까지 총 58개소의 아름다운 정원을 발굴했으며, 이 중 14개소는 ‘전라남도 민간정원’으로 등록되어 지역을 대표하는 관광명소로 거듭나는 성과를 거뒀다.

이번 공모는 ▲개인정원(주택 주변 등) ▲생활권 정원(카페, 도서관, 미술관 등 공공 이용 시설 주변) 등 2개 부문으로 나누어 진행된다. 전남 지역 내에서 정원을 직접 소유하거나 조성한 개인, 단체, 기업이라면 누구나 신청이 가능하다. 다만, 이미 전남도 민간정원으로 등록된 곳은 제외된다.
