특히 올해는 이중언어교육을 기존 체험 중심 프로그램에서 벗어나 교육과정과 연계한 수업 중심 체계로 전환하는 데 중점을 둔다. 이를 위해 학교 교육과정 속에서 운영되는 ‘이중언어 클래스랩(CLass Lab)’을 도입하고, 학생 참여형 AI 연구동아리와 이중언어 강사 인력풀을 구축해 실제 수업 현장에서 작동하는 이중언어교육 모델을 확산할 계획이다.

이와 함께 이주배경학생의 초기 적응을 돕기 위해 지역거점 한국어 예비과정을 운영하고, 학교 내 한국어학급과 방과후·캠프 프로그램을 연계해 단계별 한국어교육 체계를 강화한다. 또한 심리·정서 상담을 포함한 통합 지원을 확대해 학습과 생활 전반을 함께 지원할 방침이다.

국제교육교류도 교육과정과 연계된 방향으로 확대된다. 온라인 국제교류 ‘Hello, e-Friends!’와 해외 한국교육원 연계한 한국어교육 기반 국제교류 활성화 프로그램을 통해 단순 체험을 넘어 수업과 연계된 지속형 교류를 추진한다.

또한 글로컬교육센터를 중심으로 한국어·영어·이중언어를 아우르는 언어교육 프로그램을 운영하고, 방과후와 주말, 방학 프로그램까지 연계해 지역 기반 교육 지원 기능을 강화할 계획이다.

이와 관련, 전남교육청은 25일 청사 대회의실에서 ‘이주배경학생 교육 지원 방안 협의회’를 개최하고, 올해 주요 교육 정책 추진 방향을 공유했다.

전성아 진로교육과장은 “올해는 교육과정과 연계한 이중언어 및 한국어 교육을 강화하는 데 역량을 집중하겠다”며, “지역별 특성을 반영하고 현장의 자원을 연결해 정책이 실질적인 효과를 낼 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
