(완도=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전남 완도군과 장보고글로벌재단은 지난 14일부터 15일까지 이틀간 완도 신지 스파랜드에서 재단 회원 40명을 대상으로 워크숍을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 워크숍은 재단 창립 5주년을 맞아 회원들의 정체성을 재확립하고 세계인 장보고 대사 선양을 결의하고자 개최됐다.

이날 장보고글로벌재단 김덕룡 이사장의 ‘신문명 패러다임’과 신우철 완도군수의 ‘해양치유산업과 해양바이오’, 강봉룡 목포대 교수의 ‘장보고는 누구인가?’, 황상석 장보고글로벌재단 사무총장의 ‘세계인 장보고 선양 프로젝트’ 등의 특강이 진행됐다. <사진>

김덕룡 이사장은 “세계는 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 세계 대공항과 버금가는 위기를 맞고 있지만, 우리나라는 K-방역으로 도약하는 천재일우의 기회를 맞고 있다.”며 “1200여 년 전 통일신라의 경제와 문화영토를 한중일은 물론 중동까지 확장했던 장보고 대사의 정신을 계승하여 지역과 국가 발전에 보탬이 될 수 있도록 회원들이 힘을 모아 달라.”고 강조했다.

신우철 완도군수는 “완도군은 세계인 장보고의 전략을 벤치마킹하여 미래 100년의 먹거리 산업인 해양치유산업과 해양바이오산업 등을 집중 육성하고 있다.”면서 “역점 사업을 최선을 다 해 추진하여 새로운 장보고 시대를 열 수 있도록 하겠다.”고 말했다.

윤재갑 국회의원은 워크숍에 참석하여 인사말을 통해 “장보고 대사의 전략을 오늘날에 활용하는 방안을 연구하기 위해 오는 12월 10일 국회에서 ‘세계인 장보고 포럼 창립식’을 추진하고 있다.”고 밝혔다.

전 국가균형발전위원회 위원장을 지냈던 이민원 회원(광주대학교 교수)은 “워크숍을 통해 장보고가 글로벌 인재를 육성하고, 청해진을 한중일 해상 무역을 독점하고 동서교역을 주도하는 등 국제자유무역기지로 발전시켰다는 것을 알게 됐다.”며 “앞으로 지자체가 살아갈 길은 글로벌 인재를 확보하고 다양한 자원을 활용해 세계화를 적극 추진할 필요가 있다.”고 말했다.

워크숍에 참석한 재단 회원들은 장보고기념관과 리모델링 중인 장보고한상 명예의 전당을 견학하고, 고금도 충무사와 국내 최대 난대림인 완도수목원을 둘러보았다.
