남구는 지난 19일 “효천1‧2지구에 많은 인구가 유입됐고, 도농 복합지역인 대촌동의 환경을 고려해 해당 지역을 새롭게 재편해 신규 권역으로 편성했다”며 “하계방역 권역이 기존 4곳에서 5곳으로 세분됨에 따라 효율적인 방역 작업이 진행될 것이다”고 밝혔다.

하계방역 권역을 재구성한 이유는 관내 17개동 전체 방역 면적과 비교해 4권역의 범위가 지나치게 방대한 문제를 해소하기 위해서다.

권역별 현황 자료에 따르면 작년 기준으로 관내 방역 면적은 60.96㎢에 이른다.

1권역은 양림동과 사직동, 월산동, 백운1‧2동까지 3.1㎢이며, 2권역은 주월1‧2동과 월산4‧5동을 포함해 3.44㎢, 3권역은 방림1‧2동 및 봉선1‧2동으로 3.73㎢로 집계됐다.

특히 4권역은 효덕동과 진월동, 송암동, 대촌동까지 50.69㎢에 달하는데, 이는 관내 전체 방역 면적의 83%에 해당한다.
