(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전남도교육청은 이주배경 가정 학부모의 자녀교육 참여 기회를 확대하고, 언어장벽을 넘어 맞춤형 교육정보를 제공 받을 수 있도록 ‘다국어 번역 서비스’를 운영한다.

먼저 자동번역 알림장 애플리케이션을 통한 다국어 번역 서비스는 담임교사가 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS)에 작성한 알림장ㆍ가정통신문ㆍ교육자료를 이주배경 가정 학부모가 읽을 수 있도록 자동 번역해 제공하는 서비스다.

지원 대상은 전남 도내 소속 유ㆍ초ㆍ중ㆍ고 이주배경 가정 학부모와 교사이며, 제공되는 번역 언어는 이주배경 학생 비율이 높은 베트남어, 중국어, 영어, 필리핀어, 몽골어 등 16개 언어다.

또 전남교육청 국제교육원에서는 알림장ㆍ가정통신문ㆍ교육자료(파일)를 다국어 번역 서비스 홈페이지에 탑재하면 자동으로 번역하고, 이중언어 강사의 점검을 통해 파일 또는 QR코드로 제공하는 서비스를 운영 중이다.

앞으로 전남교육청은 단위 학교에서 직접 자동 번역된 알림장을 제작할 수 있도록 웹 기반 학교-가정 번역 서비스 프로그램을 추가로 지원할 계획이다. 이와 더불어 다문화교육 관련 각종 연찬회 및 줌(zoom) 연수 등을 활용해 다국어 번역 서비스 홍보를 강화하고 활용도를 높일 방침이다.
