이날 협약식에는 강기정 시장을 비롯해 국민대 정승렬 총장, 신성환 미래자동차사업단장, 박준석 차세대통신사업단장과 김용승 인공지능산업실장, 김준하 인공지능산업융합사업단장 등이 참석했다.

협약 내용은 ▲광주시에 초거대 인공지능 모빌리티 연구소 설립 ▲지역주도 인공지능 모빌리티 융합인재 양성 ▲인공지능 산업융합형 연구개발 및 사업화 ▲인공지능 모빌리티 특화창업 및 기업성장 지원 ▲인공지능 산업융합 기반시설(인프라) 공동활용 및 실증지원 등 초거대 인공지능 모빌리티 생태계를 조성하기 위해 상호 협력한다.

협약에 따라 광주시는 국민대와 새로운 지‧산‧학‧연 협력 모델을 만들고 인공지능 집적단지의 데이터센터, 실증장비 등 기반시설을 활용해 초거대 인공지능(AI) 모빌리티 생태계 조성에 필요한 우수 인재 양성과 기술개발 등에 적극 협력할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
