(무안·화순=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전남도는 첨단바이오산업의 핵심 기반시설인 ‘국가면역치료혁신센터’가 지난 16일 개소식을 갖고 본격 가동에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.

과학기술정보통신부의 ‘국가면역치료 플랫폼 사업’ 일환으로 설립된 국가면역치료혁신센터 개소식엔 김영록 전남도지사, 노경원 과학기술정보통신부 연구개발정책실장, 정성택 전남대 총장, 구복규 화순군수, 류기준·임지락 전남도의원, 하성동 화순군의회 의장 등 관계자 200여 명이 참석했다.

행사는 사업추진 경과보고, 전남 바이오산업 고도화 및 협력체계 구축을 위한 업무협약(MOU), 테이프 커팅식, 센터 시설 투어 등으로 진행됐다.

2020년부터 2024년까지 5년간 총사업비 480억 원을 들여 화순에 구축된 센터는 암, 희귀병 등 난치성질환 극복을 위한 면역치료 원천기술 개발, 비임상 및 임상 협업, 시제품 제작 기반시설 등을 지원한다. 주요 시설로 실험동물연구실(1층), 개방형실험실(2층), 기업부설연구소(3층)를 갖췄다.

특히 화순전남대병원을 비롯한 광주과학기술원, 포항공과대학교, 삼성서울병원, 박셀바이오 등 17개 기관·기업이 협업 연구를 진행하며, 대학병원의 풍부한 임상경험과 부설 연구소를 활용하는 등 대학, 병원, 기업이 함께 면역치료 분야 개방형 혁신 전략(오픈이노베이션)으로 운영된다.
