전남도는 촘촘한 급경사지 관리를 위해 도민 생활권에 밀집한 미등록된 위험 의심 지역 1천 개소에 대해 실태조사 용역을 실시한다고 밝혔다. 

실태조사를 통해 급경사지의 경사도·높이 등 규모, 비탈면 유형, 위험요인 등을 조사하고, 위험도 평가를 실시해 관리 대상에 포함, 공간정보 등 데이터베이스(DB)를 구축한다.

또한 위험도에 따라 사면 완화 등 연차별 정비사업을 진행하기 위해 붕괴 위험지구로 지정 시 활용을 위한 도면 등 기초자료를 작성해 해당 시군에 배포해 지정·관리토록 할 계획이다.

8월부터는 주택 등 건축물에 인접한 인공비탈면도 급경사지 관리 기준이 현행 5m에서 3m 이상으로 강화되는 만큼, 소규모 비탈면에 대해서도 급경사지 관리 대상으로 확대해 관리토록 할 예정이다.

송광민 전남도 자연재난과장은 “인명피해 우려가 큰 급경사지를 확대 발굴해 안전관리를 강화, 사면붕괴 등 위험으로부터 도민의 생명과 재산을 보호하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 전남지역 급경사지 관리 대상은 1천968개소다. 이 가운데 415개소를 붕괴위험지역으로 별도 지정해 정비하고 있다.
