행정안전부가 실시한 ‘2024년(2023년 실적) 정부합동평가’에서 전라남도가 정량평가 분야에서 최고 성적을 달성한 가운데, 목포는 전남도 내 22개 시군 중 정성평가 1위, 정량평가 7위라는 우수한 성적으로 역대 최고 성적인 종합 3위를 달성했다.

정부합동평가는 행정안전부를 비롯한 중앙행정기관이 공동으로 전국 17개 시‧도에 대해 국가위임사무와 국가보조사업 및 국가 주요시책 추진성과 등을 대상으로 평가하는 지방자치단체 종합평가이다.

전남도는 행정안전부의 평가결과를 바탕으로 목표달성도와 노력도에 따라 22개 시군의 실적을 평가했다.

시는 정량평가에서 68개 정량지표 중 65개 지표의 목표를 달성해 95.5%의 높은 실적을 보였다, 정성평가의 경우 18개 지표 중 17개 지표가 우수사례로 선정됐으며, ▲여성농업인 육성 및 복지증진 ▲문화접근성 확대 정책 추진 ▲비만예방관리사업 우수사례 등 7개 지표는 행정안전부 우수사례로 선정됐다.

시는 역대 최고 성적을 거두며 전남도의 재정 인센티브 1억 3천만원을 확보하게 됐다.

박홍률 시장은“직원들이 각자의 자리에서 최선을 다해준 덕분에 우수한 성적을 거둘 수 있었다”면서“앞으로도 우수한 정책을 창출해 시민이 행복한 목포시가 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.
