17일(현지시간) 세계 최대 가구전시회인 ‘밀라노가구박람회’에 마련된 ‘스테파노 지오반노니 특별전시관’에서 강기정 시장 등 광주시 대표단과 가진 대담에서 지오반노니는 이같이 말했다.

강기정 시장 등 대표단은 이날 광주디자인비엔날레의 발전 방안과 디자인도시 광주 구현 등에 대해 세계적 디자이너 ‘스테파노 지오반노니’와 의미있는 대담을 진행했다.

대담에는 강 시장을 비롯해 김병내 남구청장, 광주시의회 신수정·이귀순·서임석 의원, 최경란 국민대 교수 등이 참석했다.

세계 3대 산업디자이너로 꼽히는 스테파노 지오반노니는 1954년 이탈리아에서 출생해 피렌체대학 건축학과를 졸업했다. 알레시와 같은 디자인회사들과 협업을 통해 디자이너 최초로 300개 이상의 메탈과 플라스틱 제품을 출시하며 산업디자이너로서 명성을 쌓았다.
