이에 전남도는 지난해 11월까지 3개월간 클린존 23개소를 지정해 시범 추진하고, 불법 광고물 총 5만 6천154건을 정비했다. 특히 클린존 내 정당 현수막이 11% 가량 감소하고, 불법 광고물 관련 민원도 감소했다.

전남도는 이같은 결과를 바탕으로 클린존 50개소를 추가 지정했다. 주요 교차로, 어린이 보호구역, 주민 안전구역 등 불법 유동 광고물이 상습적으로 게시되는 구역을 중심으로 시군별 3개소 이상을 클린존으로 선정해 운영할 방침이다. 클린존 지정 현황은 전남도 누리집에서 확인할 수 있다.
