(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전남도는 지난 13일까지 이틀간 담양 두리농원(전라남도 친환경농업교육관)에서 ‘2024년 친환경 청년농업인 아카데미’를 열어 청년농과 친환경농업의 가치를 공유하고 실천 확산을 다짐하는 계기를 마련했다고 밝혔다.

아카데미는 사단법인 전남도친환경농업협회 주관으로, 친환경농업의 철학과 가치를 적극 홍보하고 새로운 관점에서 전남 친환경농업의 발전을 모색하기 위해 2022년부터 시작됐다.(사진)

이날 아카데미에는 전남에 주소를 두고 친환경농업에 종사하고 있거나, 참여를 바라는 49세 이하 청년 농업인과 협회 관계자 등 60여 명이 참여했다.

아카데미는 ▲전남도 친환경 청년농정책 설명회 ▲친환경자조금관리위원회와 함께하는 친환경농업 ▲친환경 청년농으로 전남에서 살아남기를 주제로 한 토론회 ▲유기농명인 농장 견학 등으로 진행됐다.

교육 이수자에게는 수료증을 전달하고, 향후 친환경농업 발전을 위한 정보교류 등 협력 공동체로 조직할 계획이다.

오관수 전남도 친환경농업협회장은 “기후변화에 대처할 방법은 땅을 살리는 유기농업에 있다”며 “어려운 여건에서도 올바른 먹거리를 생산하는 친환경 청년농업인의 역할이 무엇보다 필요한 시기”라고 말했다.

유덕규 전남도 친환경농업과장은 친환경농업 정책 강의에서 “미래세대 청년농업인이 지속가능한 농업을 실현할 수 있는 시작점이 될 수 있다”며 “친환경농산물 계약재배 청년농가 육성사업에 시설하우스 등 생산시설과 유통 활성화에 17억 5천만 원을 지원하는 등 친환경 청년농업인 지원정책 발굴에 적극 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 전남의 친환경농산물 인증면적은 2023년 말 기준 3만 5천539㏊로 전국 6만 9천412㏊의 51%를 차지하고 있다.
