(무안·장성=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=김영록 전남도지사가 고부가가치 농수산식품산업 육성 방안을 구상하기 위해 수출용 냉동김밥 생산 공장과 인공지능 무인자동화 스마트팜 등을 잇따라 방문해 현장의 우수 사례를 살폈다.

김영록 지사는 12일 수출용 냉동김밥 생산을 준비하는 장성 현대푸드시스템을 방문했다. 현장에는 김한종 장성군수와 박현숙·정철·김회식 전남도의원 등 20명이 함께했다.

장성 현대푸드시스템은 지역 농산물로 만든 삼각김밥·도시락 등을 이마트24 편의점 등 1만여 매장에 공급해 지역 농산물 소비 촉진과 일자리 창출에 기여하고 있는 향토기업이다.

이같은 역량을 기반으로 세계적 케이(K)-푸드 인기에 선도적으로 대응해 수출용 냉동 김밥, 잡채 등 자체 생산 기반을 구축, 북미·유럽 등 세계시장을 공략한다는 방침이다.

윤미숙 현대푸드시스템 대표는 “도 지원으로 수출용 냉동김밥 생산 시설 확충을 차질없이 추진할 수 있게 됐다”며 “앞으로 지역 농산물을 활용한 다양한 제품 개발에 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

김영록 지사는 “전남 농수산식품이 고부가가치를 창출하도록 농수산식품 원료 생산부터 제품화 과정 전반의 식품산업 육성체계를 마련하겠다”고 말했다.

김영록 지사는 이어 장성 소재 청년 창농기업인 ‘테라웨이브’를 방문했다.

‘테라웨이브’는 인공지능 무인자동화 스마트팜 ‘테라큐브’를 2022년 개발해 지난해 일본에 수출한 기업이다. ‘테라큐브’는 기존 챔버형 스마트팜의 단점을 보완하기 위해 순환형 재배시스템과 작업용 로봇, 환경제어 인공지능(AI)을 도입해 생산성 증가와 노동력·경영비 절감을 이뤘다.

문영철 대표는 새싹삼을 효율적으로 재배하기 위해 1년간의 연구 끝에 ‘테라큐브’를 직접 설계하고 제작해 2022년 11월 1차 버전 개발에 성공했다. 이후 6개월간 연구를 지속해 2차 버전을 지난해 5월 출시했다.

테라웨이브는 전남도농업기술원 청년창농타운에서 창업교육과 스타트업 지원사업으로 기반을 다졌으며, 올해는 ‘청년농업인 창업 스케일업 공모사업’에 선정돼 청년 창농기업으로 성장하고 있다.
