강 시장은 이날 오후 광주국제양궁장에서 정책소풍을 열어 국제대회 규격의 경기장과 시설을 비롯해 숙박시설, 수송체계 등 전반적인 준비 사항들을 점검했다.

광주시는 지난 1월 대회지원단을 신설했으며 대회 상징물 개발, 대회 추진 전략 및 과제 마련, 숙박시설 확보, 장애인대회 수송차량 및 국비 확보 등 다양한 분야에서 대회 성공 개최를 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다.

강 시장은 먼저 국제양궁장 시설을 살펴보고, 대회 개최 시 필요한 시설 개선 등을 차질 없이 이행해 선수단과 관람객 편의를 최대한 높여줄 것을 지시했다.
