(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자= 전남도는 과학기술정보통신부와 정보통신기획평가원에서 공모한 소프트웨어 중심대학에 순천대학교가 선정됨에 따라 디지털 전환을 이끌 핵심 인재 양성을 본격 추진한다고 밝혔다.

순천대학교는 2030년까지 8년간 국비 150억 원을 지원받아 산업현장 맞춤형 디지털 인재를 양성하게 된다. ‘소프트웨어 중심대학’은 산업현장 요구를 반영해 소프트웨어 중심으로 교육체계를 혁신하고 인공지능(AI) 등 신기술 수요에 부합하는 소프트웨어 전문·융합 인재를 양성하는 사업이다.

전남도와 순천대학교는 디지털전환 및 환경·사회·투명경영(ESG)을 선도하는 NOVA 플랫폼 기반의 소프트웨어 인재 양성을 위해 대학구조, 교육, 취·창업, 가치확산, 4개의 세부계획에 따라 사업을 추진할 예정이다.

순천대학교는 지역 산업 활성화를 위한 데이터사이언스학과를 설립하고 소프트웨어 관련학과 정원 및 교원 채용을 확대하며 비대면 교육 및 실습을 위한 교육 기반시설을 개선하는 등 소프트웨어 교육을 위한 기반을 조성한다.

또 인공지능 등 신기술 분야의 소프트웨어 전공 교육과정을 개편하고 500개 기업과 산학 플랫폼을 구축해 산학프로젝트, 장기 인턴십 프로그램을 운영하는 등 소프트웨어 현장 맞춤형 융합인재 양성을 추진한다.

이밖에도 순천대학교 모든 재학생이 디지털 리터러시 등 소프트웨어 관련 소양 교육을 필수로 이수토록 해 인문사회 계열이나 예체능 계열 학생들도 사회에서 요구하는 소프트웨어 기초 활용 능력을 갖춘 인재로 육성할 계획이다.
