전남대 여수학연구원개원준비위원회은 오는 24일 여수캠퍼스 국제회의실에서 ‘한국 과거사 진상 규명의 성과와 과제 - 제주 4·3과 여순사건‘을 주제로 2시간에 걸쳐 진행된다.

이날 포럼은 제주4·3평화재단의 양정심 조사연구실장의 주제발표에 이어 김준옥 명예교수(전남대)의 진행으로 노영기 교수(조선대)와 문수현 연구원(순천대 10·19연구소)이 토론자로 나선다.

정성택 전남대 총장은 “지난 2월 창립 심포지엄에 이어 열리는 ‘제1회 여수학포럼’은 100년을 넘게 여수를 지켜온 지역민의 대학으로서 지역에 대한 탐구를 바탕으로 지역의 문화를 연구하고 이를 통해 지역사회 발전을 선도하는 대학 본연의 역할을 강화하는 자리”라며 “포럼을 통해 우리 지역의 주요한 역사적 사실이었던 여순사건의 체계적인 연구가 진행될 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다.

포럼은 전남대학교 여수캠퍼스 공식유튜브로도 생중계될 예정이다.
