(신안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자= 전라남도는 지난 18일 신안 자은도 백길해수욕장 옆에 들어선 명품숙박시설 ‘씨원아일랜드(C-ONE ISLAND)’ 개장식이 열렸다고 밝혔다.

씨원아일랜드는 전남․광주를 기반으로 하는 향토기업인 ㈜지오그룹이 신안 자은면 대표 관광명소인 백길해수욕장 인근에 지난 2019년 11월 착공에 들어가 2년 6개월 만에 완공했다. 투입된 총사업비는 1천500억 원이다.

씨원아일랜드는 호텔과 리조트로 구성됐으며, 총 415객실과 대형 컨벤션 등을 갖췄다. 이달 말까지 시범 숙박을 거쳐 7월부터 일반인을 대상으로 정상 운영한다.

또 ㈜지오그룹은 오는 2026년까지 총 8천300억 원을 들여 54만㎡ 규모 ‘자은 해양관광단지’를 개발할 계획이다. 씨원아일랜드를 포함해 휴양펜션단지, 휴양시설, 마리나는 물론 프랑스, 독일, 일본, 중국 등 세계적 특화거리를 조성, 관광객이 휴식과 오락을 즐길 수 있는 단지를 만든다는 구상이다.

신안은 2019년 천사대교, 2021년 임자대교와 추포대교가 개통됐고, 지난해 유엔(UN)이 세계 최우수 관광 마을로 뽑은 퍼플섬이 위치한 최적의 힐링 관광지다.

전남도는 한국관광공사와 협력해 ‘전남 여행가는 달’ 프로그램으로 씨원아일랜드의 숙박과 해변 승마를 연계한 체험상품 등 다양한 관광상품을 운영한다.

최일기 지오그룹 회장은 “씨원아일랜드가 전남 서남권 지역의 체류형 관광기반 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다”며 “앞으로 생명의 땅 으뜸전남에 청정․힐링을 즐기는 최적의 명품 관광 숙박시설을 지속해서 조성하도록 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
