프라임경제가 한국갤럽에 의뢰해 지난 4일~5일 이틀간 광주시에 거주하는 만 18세 이상 남녀 804명에게 광주시장 후보 선호도를 조사한 결과(오차범위는 95% 신뢰수준에 ±3.5%p 응답율 14.9%), 이용섭 예비후보 37.8%, 강기정 예비후보는 32.9%로 조사됐다.

두 후보의 지지율 격차는 오차범위 내인 4.9%p였다.
