전남도는 이날 질병관리청으로부터 도내 코로나19 확진자 중 3명이 정밀검사 결과, 오미크론 변이바이러스에 감염됐다고 통보받았다.

역학조사 결과, 전북의 첫 오미크론 확진자인 아프가니스탄 국적 30대 외국인 유학생이 조카와 접촉했으며, 조카가 다니는 어린이집으로 확산됐다. 이후 서울에서 가족모임 등을 통해 전남으로 지역 간 전파가 이뤄진 것으로 확인됐다.
