이번 업무협약은 두 기관의 상호 협의를 통해 학교구성원 모두가 만족하는 효율적인 학교환경 관리와 지역사회 노인 일자리 창출을 위해 추진됐다.

전남도교육청은 학교시설 관리의 전문적이고 체계적인 운영을 위해 올 4월부터 일부 시·군 교육지원청에서 학교시설을 통합적으로 관리하는 사업을 시범 운영해오고 있다.

이에 교육지원청에 배치된 정규직 전담인력과 함께 학교시설을 유지 관리하는 노무인력이 필요하게 됐고, 한국시니어클럽협회 전남지회와 같은 지역사회 단체의 인력을 제공받아 운영하는 방안을 마련했다.

이번 협약을 통해 전남교육청은 필요 시 적기에 인력을 제공받아 학교 시설관리의 효율성을 기할 수 있게 되고, 지역사회 고령자들에게는 좋은 일자리를 제공하는 일석이조의 효과를 거둘 것으로 기대된다.
