광주광역시는 1일 이용섭 시장, 양향자 국회의원, 김용집 시의회 의장, 산업부 박재영 제조산업정책관, 박상철 호남대 총장, 송종욱 광주은행장, 김세종 한국산업기술시험원장, 김화영 FITI 시험연구원장, 관련기업 및 유관기관 관계자 등 100여명이 참석한 가운데 선도기술지원센터 내 실차 EMC(전자기적합성) 챔버에서 준공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

친환경자동차 부품클러스터는 지역 자동차산업 경쟁력 강화와 부품산업 고도화, 기업역량 제고 등을 위해 지난 2016년부터 2022년까지 총 3030억원을 투입해 센터 건립, 첨단장비 구축, 기술개발, 기업지원 등을 통해 친환경·미래차 산업 생태계 조성을 위해 추진됐다.

선도기술지원센터(지하1층, 지상2층)에는 친환경·미래차 부품 설계·시제품 제작 및 환경신뢰성 및 전자기적합성(EMC) 등의 시험·인증 장비 181종과 함께 인공지능 중심 산업융합 집적단지 조성사업을 통해 구축되는 AI기반 차량 시뮬레이션, 5G커넥티드카 실증 시스템 등 25종의 최첨단 장비가 집적돼 미래차 전환의 허브 역할을 수행하게 된다.
