이번 행사는 장흥군민, 향우 등 400여 명이 참석한 실내행사로 치러졌다.

기념식은 장흥합창단과 문화공감 에움의 축하 공연으로 문을 열었다.

이어 군민헌장 낭독, 경과보고, 군민의 상 시상, 군정발전 유공자 표창, 기념사와 축사, 군민의 노래 합창 등의 순서로 진행됐다.

2024년 장흥군민의 상은 관산읍 이문갑 씨가 교육 문화부문 수상자에 올랐다.

이문갑 씨는 전통 서예 후진 양성, 무료 서예교실 운영, 각종 지역 행사에서 재능기부 봉사에 나서며 남다른 지역사랑을 실천했다.

이 밖에도 지역사회의 화합 및 군정 발전에 기여한 공적이 인정된 읍면별 10명에 대해서도 장흥군수 표창패가 수여됐다.

기념식에선는 2024년 장흥군에서 개최예정인 제17회 정남진장흥 물 축제, 대한민국 통합의학박람회, 장흥 회령 이순신 축제의 성공기원을 위한 퍼포먼스도 진행했다.
