이번 협약식은 동년배인 고근석 고서면장과 박정일 삼산면장의 오랜 인연을 계기로 마련됐으며 평소 면정의 주요 현안을 자주 논의하는 과정에서 이루어지게 됐다.

앞으로 고향사랑기부제 및 행정업무 상호 협조를 통해 지역 대표 축제 및 관광자원을 홍보하는 하는 등 지속적인 교류를 통해 돈독한 관계를 유지해 나가기로 약속했다.

고근석 고서면장은 “이번 협약식을 계기로 고향사랑기부제 활성화와 양 지역 간의 상생발전을 위한 우호관계를 이어 나가기를 바란다”고 말했다.

한편 고향사랑기부제는 본인 주소지 외 지방자치단체에 연간 500만 원 한도 내에서 기부할 수 있는 제도다. 기부자는 기부 금액의 10만 원까지는 전액, 초과분에 대해서는 16.5%의 세액공제 혜택을 받을 수 있고, 지자체는 기부 금액의 30%까지 답례품을 제공한다.
