(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=개막 3개월여를 앞둔 ‘2024 대한민국 글로컬 미래교육박람회’의 주요 행사 윤곽이 속속 공개되면서 지역 중심 미래교육의 새 판이 어떻게 구현될지 관심이 쏠리고 있다.

전남도교육청은 오는 5월 여수에서 개최되는 ‘2024 대한민국 글로컬 미래교육박람회’에 선보일 콘퍼런스‧글로컬미래교실‧전시‧문화예술 축제 등 섹션별 콘텐츠 준비에 박차를 가하고 있다.

5월 29일 박람회의 화려한 개막을 기점으로 여수세계박람회장은 글로컬 미래교육 아카이브, 미래교육 스테이션, 미래교육 플레이 그라운드 등 세 개 공간으로 변신한다.

특히 미래교육을 향해 발맞춘 25여 개 참여국 간 국제적 연대, 지역사회와 긴밀한 협력 등을 보여줌으로써, ‘공생의 교육, 지속가능한 미래’란 박람회 대주제가 행사장 곳곳에서 드러나게 한다는 계획이다.

먼저 이번 박람회 핵심콘텐츠로 꼽히는 ‘글로컬 미래교실’에서는 2030년 학생들이 학습할 미래 수업을 ‘미리보기’ 할 수 있어 일찍부터 관심을 모으고 있다.

이곳에서 학생들은 공책과 연필 대신 저마다 디바이스를 활용해 학습 중 필요한 정보를 검색해 얻고, ‘로봇’이 교실 이곳저곳을 돌아다니며 수업 진행을 돕는다. 인류가 오래 상상해 왔던 미래학교의 모습이 현실로 보여지는 셈이다.

실제 ‘글로컬 미래교실에’에는 초․중․고 학교급별 1일 4시간씩 3일간 36시간의 실제 수업이 운영되고, 유치원 과정도 별도로 구성된다.

미래교실의 표준 모델을 제시하는 만큼, 예체능을 포함해 모든 교과목이 고르게 편성되도록 시간표를 짰다. 더불어 박람회 현장과 현지 교실을 연결한 온라인 교류 수업, AI를 활용한 독서토론, 디바이스 활용 과학․수학 학습 등 프로젝트 수업도 볼거리다.

여기다 한국에너지공과대학이 자체 개발한 AI플랫폼을 비롯해 구글․네이버․LG 등 세계적 기업들의 교육 콘텐츠를 활용한 맞춤형 학습 모델이 선보일 예정이어서 주목된다.

‘글로컬 미래교실’에 관심이 뜨거운 만큼, 전남교육청은 2~3월 중 전남 동․서부 두 개 권역에 이번 박람회에서 선보이게 될 동일 모델을 설치할 계획이다. 본 행사 시작 전부터 전남 작은학교의 경쟁력을 대내외에 알리고, 박람회가 끝난 후에도 상시 운영하기로 했다.

이와 함께 미래교육과 관련해 ‘같은 고민’을 하는 세계 각국의 교육 이슈‧정책을 공유하는 장이 펼쳐진다.

먼저 토마스 프레이 다빈치연구소장, 폴킴 미국 스탠퍼드대학 부학장, 로봇공학자 데니스홍이 ‘미래교육의 방향성’이란 대 주제로 특강을 준비하고 있다.

또 글로컬 미래교육 전시 및 콘퍼런스에 캐나다‧독일‧호주‧네덜란드 등 교육 선진국과 국내 거주 다문화 가정 대표국인 베트남(호치민시 교육청), 필리핀(마닐라시 교육부), 중국(산시성 교육청), 몽골(몽골총 교육부) 등을 비롯해 인도, 카자흐스탄, 우즈베키스탄, 튀르키예 등이 참여할 예정이다.
