고흥 검출 농장은 육용오리 39일령 2만 2천여 마리를 사육하고 있다. 지난 3일 오리 폐사가 늘고 있다는 농장주의 신고에 따라 전남도동물위생시험소 정밀검사가 진행됐다.

검사 결과 4일 H5형 조류인플루엔자가 검출됐으며, 최종 고병원성 여부는 농림축산검역본부에서 확인 중이다.

전남도는 신고 접수 즉시 가축위생방역지원본부 초동방역팀(2명)을 투입해 해당 농장에 대해 출입 통제 및 소독 등 방역 조치를 하고, 전남도 현장 지원관을 파견해 주변 환경조사와 발생 원인을 분석했다.

명창환 전남도 행정부지사는 “환경부에 따르면 11월 겨울 철새 개체 수는 98만 5천 마리로, 최대 도래하는 12~1월 157만 마리 대비 62.7% 수준”이라며 “겨울 철새의 추가 도래를 고려할 때 추가 확산 방지를 위해 가금농장 차단방역에 총력을 기울여야 한다”고 강조했다.
