광주시와 더불어민주당은 이날 오후 시청 비즈니스룸에서 예산정책간담회를 열고 달빛고속철도특별법 연내 제정, 내년도 인공지능(AI) 조성사업비 등 국비 확보, 대유위니아그룹 사태 해결을 위한 범정부 지원 촉구 등에 손을 맞잡기로 했다.

이날 예산정책간담회에는 광주시에서 강기정 시장, 김광진 문화경제부시장, 배일권 기획조정실장, 민주당 중앙당에서 홍익표 원내대표와 이개호 정책위의장이 참석했고, 이병훈 광주시당위원장, 신정훈 전남도당위원장, 윤영덕‧송갑석‧조오섭‧이형석‧이용빈‧민형배 지역구 국회의원이 함께했다.

이날 간담회는 국회 예산안 심의기간이 얼마 남지 않은 상황이고 광주 출신의 예결소위 의원이 없는 어려운 여건을 감안해 주말임에도 긴급히 만나 협의를 진행했다.

광주시와 민주당은 지역의 주요 현안과 2024년 국비예산 확보를 위한 당 차원의 지원 방안에 대해 논의했다.

광주시는 먼저 지역의 최대 이슈인 대유위니아 사태 해결을 위한 금융지원 및 고용위기지역 지정에 대한 강력한 지원을 요청했다.

광주시는 대유위니아그룹 사태로 인한 여파가 지역경제에 미치는 영향을 최소화하고자 50억원의 특례보증, 업체당 최대 1억원 지원을 위한 50억원 규모의 긴급경영안정자금 등 긴급 금융‧재정 지원을 했다. 또 지난 10월 신청한 중소기업특별지원지역이 20일께 지정받을 것으로 예상되는 등 지역경제의 조속한 회복에 힘을 모아왔다.
