2024년도 전남도 정부예산은 2023년도 최종 확보액 8조 6천525억 원에 비해 다소 감소했지만, 2023년도 정부 예산안 8조 2천30억 원에 대비해서는 3천878억 원으로 4.9% 증가한 규모다.

정부의 강력한 긴축재정 기조에 따라 정부 총지출 증가율이 2005년 이후 7년 만에 가장 낮은 2.8%에 불과한 현 상황에 비추어 볼 때 매우 큰 성과다.

분야별로도 사회간접자본(SOC) 예산 뿐 아니라 첨단 산업, 에너지 신산업, 농림·수산, 관광 분야 등 골고루 반영돼 미래 성장 동력을 확보하기 위한 전략 사업들을 차질없이 추진할 수 있게 됐다.

예비타당성 조사 중인 ‘광양 공업용수도(Ⅳ)’ 기본계획수립 용역비 5억 원과 ‘여수 국동항 건설’ 설계비 20억 원은 조속히 통과될 수 있도록 노력해 예산을 반영할 계획이다.
