친환경농법을 20년 이상 실천한 송철수 농가는 지금까지 30여 종의 다양한작물을 재배해오다 소득과 작업환경 등을 고려해 토마토를 최종 선택했다.

올해는 새로운 완숙토마토 품종인 ‘플럼토마토(Plum Tomato)’도 생산할 계획이다. 플럼토마토는 과육이 단단하고 쉽게 무르지 않아 신선 샐러드나다양한 요리에 사용되는 인기 품종이다.

송철수 농가는 정보통신기술을 접목해 토마토의 특성에 맞는 관리로겨울은 물론 여름에도 고품질 토마토를 연중 생산한다. 연중 재배는생산성 향상 및 노동력 절감 등 안정적 경영에 큰 도움이 된다.

2005년 전국 최초 친환경 학교급식 납품을 시작으로 생산시설을 규모화하고 판매처도 확보해 호남권물류센터, 공공급식, 생협 등에 판매한다.
