(광주·무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자= 광주․전남 반도체특화단지 유치사업이 본격화되고 있다. 특히 우리나라를 대표하는 반도체 전문기관과 연구기관들이 반도체특화단지 광주‧전남 유치에 뜻을 뭉치면서 유치희망이 더욱 밝아졌다.

광주시와 전남도는 15일 광주시청 비즈니스룸에서 강기정 시장과 김영록 도지사 등이 참석한 가운데 반도체 관련 5개 기관과 ‘광주전남 반도체 산업육성을 위한 상생협력 업무협약’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

협약기관은 한국팹리스산업협회, 한국PCB&반도체패키징산업협회, 한국반도체․디스플레이기술학회, 한국마이크로전자 및 패키징학회 등 대한민국을 대표하는 반도체 관련 기관이다. 여기에 반도체 전문 연구기관인 한국광기술원도 뜻을 함께 했다.

이번 협약을 통해 각 기관은 ▲광주전남 공동 반도체 특화단지 지정 및 운영 ▲공동 기술개발 및 연구기반시설 구축 ▲산업생태계 조성을 통한 기업지원 ▲광주‧전남 반도체산업 인재양성 특화분야 도출 및 전략 수립 등 다양한 분야에서 긴밀한 상호협력 관계를 이어갈 계획이다.

특히 이번 협약을 계기로 광주전남 공동 특화단지 유치에 탄력을 받을 전망이다. 중앙정부의 글로벌 첨단전략산업 클러스터 육성정책에 발맞춰 기술개발, 기업지원, 인재양성, 기반구축 등 광주전남이 시스템반도체 패키징 분야를 선도할 것으로 기대된다.

양 시‧도는 반도체산업 육성을 위해 산‧학‧연‧관의 유기적인 협력으로 대한민국 미래 100년을 이끌 반도체산업 초격차 허브를 구축할 계획이다.
