전남도는 해양수산부가 공모한 ‘갯벌 세계자연유산 보전본부’ 설립지로 신안군이 최종 선정돼 세계자연유산 ‘한국의 갯벌’ 정책의 중심지로 자리매김할 수 있는 기틀을 마련했다고 밝혔다.

특히 보전본부 유치로 향후 30년간 생산유발효과 927억 원, 부가가치효과 514억 원, 고용유발효과 2천100명 등 경제적 파급효과가 기대되고 있다.
