광주시는 25일 시청 비즈니스룸에서 강기정 시장, 김낙곤 광주문화방송㈜사장이 참석한 가운데 ‘광주김치산업 발전과 상호협력을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다.

이번 협약은 광주김치산업과 김장문화의 공동 발전과 세계화에 기여하기 위해 추진됐다.

협약에 따라 양 기관은 ▲광주김치산업 활성화 및 수출시장 개척 ▲김치축제·김장대전 콘텐츠 개발 및 홍보 ▲양 기관이 보유한 콘텐츠 상호 활용 등에 대해 적극 협력한다.

광주시는 올해 30주년을 맞는 광주김치축제를 11월 3일부터 6일까지 나흘동안 개최한다. 특히 많은 시민이 참여할 수 있도록 축제장소를 광주김치타운에서 상무시민공원으로 옮겨 치를 계획이다.
